Following a very successful ‘Scottish Highlands Tour’ this year, on Tuesday 14th May next year we shall embark on a tour of ‘Brittany & Normandy’. The tour includes a drive along the spectacular North Coast of Brittany before venturing into the beautiful French countryside of Central Brittany and Suisse Normandy. Averaging less than 150 miles each day, we catch a daytime ferry back to Portsmouth on Tuesday 21st May. We anticipate costs in the region of £1,000 for two people…Find out more »
This is a great event held in the college at Slindon, with classic cars and all the attractions of a village summer fete. The location is fantastic. Please note the event is open to all members, but to gain access to the classic display your MG must be pre-85 and be pre-registered. Note pre-1978 cars only Meeting on Lion Green first thing for breakfast and a chance to meet your fellow entrants. The tour will leave for a drive of around fifty miles through the beautiful local countryside, with a refreshment stop en route. Crystal Palace is one of the oldest motorsport venues in the world and, since it staged its first motor race, back in 1899, it’s played host to some fantastic battles involving some of the sport’s greatest names. From its early days as an improvised venue for enthusiasts, through the 1920s and 1930s when huge crowds came to cheer on the local Glaziers motorcycle speedway team, right up until the circuit closed in 1972, Crystal Palace really was ‘London’s Own Circuit’.…Find out more »
Meet on the promenade at the Eastern Parade on Bexhill seafront, near the Old Bathing station café. It is not a show, just a display of cars where car enthusiasts meet from 10 a.m. to talk about their cars to anyone walking by. We find that a lot of people are very interested in seeing cars which they might have previously owned.Find out more »
Join us for a run to the home of the Morris car company founder William Morris, Lord Nuffield. You will get an insight into this remarkable man and the relatively modest lifestyle that he led. We will then head to the site of the MG factory at Abingdon where you can retrace the test runs that each MG took before leaving the factory.
